Our handwriting groups utilize a multi-sensory approach, incorporating the First Strokes curriculum developed and written by Jan McCleskey, MA, OTR/L. Hands-on group activities will help facilitate social, cognitive and perceptual motor skills.

Print Beginnings is for pre-writers and its aimed at building foundational skills for good handwriting. Leaning focus will be on position and space concepts, fine motor skills and grasp development, body awareness, while exploring lines and movement.

Print Plus is a small group for starting writers with the objective of teaching kids to write correctly and automatically. The learning focus will be on: pencil grip, posture, multi-sensory cueing for proper letter formations, directionality of letters and spacing and alignment on writing paper.

Cursive Beginnings is a multi-sensory handwriting approach to build writing fluidity and efficiency. Learning focus will be on: imitation and copying, multi-sensory cues for proper letter formations, and connections and developing consistent letter sizing, spacing and alignment.
